2009 Accomplishments With funds received from Loudoun
Wildlife Conservancy and individuals. Funding request were submitted to Virginia
DEQ. Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy and Goose Creek Association were
the primary stream monitoring groups. Sampling for bacteria continued
in the Catoctin
Watershed Project with over 250 samples analyzed bringing the total to
almost 1,000. |

Loudoun County Stream Assessment Funded by an EPA grant, Loudoun County Government conducted a comprehensive county-wide (stream assessment). |

Nominations of Stream Monitoring to VA DEQ In response to the five sites nominated by LWW, Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) will be conducting benthic sampling at four additional sites in. (2010). |

Loudoun Watershed Stakeholders Steering Committee Participating groups from LWW attended monthly meetings of the Loudoun Watershed Stakeholders Steering Committee (LWMSSC).

EarthDay On April 26, 2009 LWW demonstrated stream
monitoring at the Loudoun Earth Day at Loudoun event in Broadlands. |

Catoctin Watershed Project In support of stream water quality, the
CWP
project continued in western Loudoun between Purcellville, Lovettsville and
Waterford area. The project culminated in a five-year project review
on July 27, 2009 of stream
monitoring for fecal coliform. |
