2010 Accomplishments
In Our Backyards; A Celebration of Loudoun's Historic and Environmental Heritage
On January 31, Loudoun Watershed Watch and several other LWW partners exhibited at Loudoun Water. This event was organized by the Loudoun County Preservation and Conservation Coalition.Nominations of Stream Monitoring to VA DEQ
In response to the five sites nominated by LWW, Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) will be conducting benthic sampling at four additional sites in. (2010).Loudoun Watershed Stakeholders Steering Committee
Participating groups from LWW attended monthly meetings of the Loudoun Watershed Stakeholders Steering Committee (LWMSSC).
EarthDay
On April 25, 2010 LWW demonstrated stream
monitoring at the Loudoun Earth Day at Loudoun event in Broadlands.
Family Stream Day
LWW co-hosted the ninth annual Family Stream Day.
VLWA Presentation
On March 8, 2010 presented stream monitoring results at Virginia Lakes & Watershed Association in Richmond, VA.
GCA Annual Meeting
On March 24, 2010 participated in Goose Creek Association: "Preserving ur Rural Landscape in Middleburg, VA.
LWW Planning
On April 7 held annual stream monitoring planning event in Leesburg, VA.
Smart's Mill Middle School
On April 19-22 water monitoring event at Temple Hall Farm.
Scenic River Program
On May 3 had Loudoun County pass resolution formally commerating the 40th anniversary of state Scenic River program.
TMDL 2010
On Nov 17, presented paper on monitoring Catoctin bacterial TMDL at the TMDL 2010 conference in Baltimore, MD.
Watershed Map and Crossword Puzzle
Delivered 150 copies of the watershed poster and crossword puzzle to Newton-Lee and Lucketts Elementary Schools and Briar Woods High School.
