Pick up Passport at the first Station when you arrive. Visit all Stations to get stamped and complete your passport.

On October 3, the Loudoun County Board of Supervisor issued a Proclamation recognizing the 10th anniversary of Family Stream Day.

On Saturday, October 15 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, an "Exploring Our Streams" day is planned.  This is the 10th annual "Family Stream Day" planned by Loudoun Watershed Watch.  This year's event is co-hosted by the Loudoun Environmental Stewardship Alliance (LESA) and will offer exploration of a local urban stream and hands-on discovery of the smart landscaping, stormwater and erosion control, stream assessment and monitoring, and the many ways you can help your local streams and environment.

The day's events will include:
  • Kids games (several)
  • Stream monitoring (macroinvertebrates)
  • Soil erosion
  • Smart landscaping
  • Stormwater 
  • Water quality testing
  • Wetland habitat
  • Water conservation
Poster, Prose and Photography Contest This years theme is "Healthy Streams, Healthy Loudoun Communities", Entries are due Sept. 30 for the contest. Grand prize is a $25 certificate! Download the 2011 guidelines here


Event Hosts include: Loudoun Watershed Watch and Loudoun Environmental Stewardship Alliance (LESA). 

Event Partners include: Loudoun WaterLoudoun Wildlife Conservancy, , Loudoun County agencies, Piedmont Environmental Council, Audubon Naturalist Society, Claude Moore Park, Blue Ridge Center for Environmental Stewardship, Girls Scout, Goose Creek Association and other Loudoun Watershed Watch member organizations.

Family Stream Day has been organized to coincide with World Water Monitoring Day which is officially celebrated on September 18, 2011 and between March 22 and December 31, 2011.  Come to Family Stream Day and learn more about how one million people plan to be participating in 100 countries in this event to check water quality.
