2016 Nature Stewardship Day

On Sunday, October 16 from 11:00 to 3:00 pm, the first Nature Stewardship day will be held at Dominion High School. This is a family-friendly, free and fun event to learn more about the local environment in Sterling, VA. Hosted by Dominion High School and sponsored by the Loudoun Environmental Stewardship Alliance, the event has lots of educational and fun activities including Bird identification, games to sharpen observation skills, trash to treasures, creek critter identification, raptor identification, composting with worms, how to make your yard more bird & butterfly-friendly, how to become a Master Naturalist, how to plant a tree, learn about watersheds, learn about monarchs, how to properly plant a tree, apps to get more familiar with nature and much more.


 

The day's events will include:
  • Reducing Trash--Fun Treasures & Crafts to make Kristyn Moskey/NVCC
  • Composting with worms Pamela Schmidt
  • Nature Games Blue Ridge Center for Environmental Stewardship
  • Which bird is which? Claude Moore Park

Event Hosts include: Dominion High School and Loudoun Environmental Stewardship Alliance (LESA).
