2007 Annual Family Stream Day

On Saturday, October 20 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, an "X-Stream-ly Awesome" day in and around the Leesburg community is planned. This 6th annual "Exploring Our Streams Day" planned by Loudoun Watershed Watch, will offer exploration of a local urban stream and hands-on discovery of the smart landscaping, stormwater and erosion control, stream assessment and monitoring, and the many ways you can help your local streams and environment. The theme this year is:
 
    "Streams - Discover the Hidden Treasures."

Reptile Display
The day's events will include:
  • Water quality monitoring demos
  • Soil Erosion
  • Stormwater 
  • Games for kids
  • Wetland habitat
  • Water conservation
  • Indoor exhibits



Poster, Poem and Essay Contest

Entries are due Sept 27 for the contest. Grand prize is a $25 certificate!

Family Stream Day has been organized to coincide with World Water Monitoring Day (http://www.worldwatermonitoringday.org/) between September 18 and on October 18.  Come to Family Stream Day and learn more about how 80,000 people have participated in 50 countries in this event to check water quality.
